Alpha v0.3.3 Released


Characters now get their own little poems to accompany a preview of their starting abilities! They each now have 9 unique memories, which should be plenty to go along with the universal memories. Gonna prioritize enemy variety from here, but hopefully soon I can put up a Steam page and present a demo.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed title theme fading too abruptly when entering character select menu.

Visuals

- Cards and memories that are being highlighted (e.g. due to being affected/triggered) are now spread apart.
- Darkened screen when menus are open.
- Inverted most pause menu button colours for better contrast.
- Made debuff AOE outlines more visible.

Audio

- Fixed wonky music compression.
- Changed timing of the motif that plays when starting a run.

Gameplay

- Added the ability to examine a character on the selection screen to see their profile and starting abilities.

Quality of Life

- When gaining items with a full inventory, you can now choose which items to discard.
- Clarified what counts as an attack on the enemy aggro tutorial.

Enemies

- Wood: Bookwraiths now randomize their ability cycle starting point, so it's less likely that every one of them is attacking at once.
- Metal: Steel Eaters now randomize their ability cycle starting point, so it's less likely that every one of them is debuffing at once.

Items

- Item reward pacing and rarity balance has been tweaked.
- Added Mote of Rest, which grants 2 AP and 2 GP.
- Added Mote of Reconsideration, which discards and redraws 4 cards.
- Added Mote of Determination, which cures offensive debuffs.
- Added Mote of Reassurance, which cures defensive debuffs.
- Added Mote of Patience, which cures all damage-over-time statuses except Fray.

Memories

- Butterfly:
  - Added Halfcape, which grants 3 Nimble upon defeating an enemy.
  - Added Polearm Flag, which grants 10 Block upon defeating an enemy.
  - Added Summarization, which fast-forwards the cooldown of any card that defeats an enemy.

- Seagull:
  - Added Spectacles, which grant Block equal to the number of Gambits played this turn.
  - Added Lemma, which draws 3 cards upon defeating an enemy.
  - Added Spell Capsule, which temporarily upgrades any card that defeats an enemy.

- Cricket:
  - Added Vice Grip, which has a 1 in 3 chance to copy a card from any unit that attacks you.
  - Added Dovetail, which grants 1 Critical when playing a card that draws another card.
  - Added Carved Signature, which causes your first attack each battle to apply 1 Unstable.

- Crow:
  - Added Magnetic Sand, which applies 1 additional stack when playing damage-over-time status cards.
  - Added Spread Wings, which grants Focus for every unit affected by an AOE card if you hit 2 or more.
  - Added Witch Silver, which grants 1 Resist on turn start.
