Alpha v0.3.0 Released


Persistent character traits, the spice of any roguelike, have finally been added. There are now 30 Memories in the game -- sort of like Slay the Spire's relics, but I plan on having them do stranger things.

Now to keep fleshing out the game with content and story.

Bug Fixes

- Unit-specific rewards now redirect to a standard reward when a unit retreats before receiving their reward.

Visuals

- Replaced placeholder art for the Wall of Memory path.
- Camera now centres the selected unit slightly lower on the screen.

Gameplay

- Memories (equipment items that have persistent effects) have been added.
- Each character has a starting Memory.
  - Butterfly: Shield Collar grants 3 Block for each adjacent unit on turn end.
  - Seagull: Tactical Tome reduces a random Gambit's cost by 1 on turn start.
  - Cricket: Glass Whetstone grants 2 Parry on battle start.
  - Crow: Pitch-Black Dye grants 2 Focus if there are no adjacent units on turn end.
- Memories can also be gained from paths and shops.
  - Start battles with various statuses.
  - Gain various statuses when above 50% health.
  - Gain various statuses when below 50% health.
  - Gain various statuses when attacked.
  - Gain various statuses (or Block) when ending turn without those statuses.
  - Gain max health on battle end.
  - Gain statuses when drawing enough cards with certain properties.
  - Trigger various effects when playing enough cards with certain properties.
  - Gain powerful buffs at the cost of losing max health each battle.
  - Gain Vigor and Flow per adjacent unit, but gain Stunned and Dazed if there are no adjacent units.
  - Each turn, a random Action restores HP on play, and a random Gambit costs HP on play.
  - Each turn, a random Action loses potency, and a random Gambit gains potency.
  - Each battle, a random Gambit gains Draw.
  - Each battle, a random Action is upgraded.
  - Draw a Gambit when you play your last Gambit.

Quality of Life

- Added a codex page where tutorials and mechanics can be reviewed.
- Added more tutorials.

  - Enemy attention
- You can now zoom the camera with the I/O keys (rebindable).
- The Stunned status is now more clearly described when applied to enemies.
